2022 BOND SCOPE

This Bond will construct, equip and furnish renovations and improvements to the existing 1921 section of Pittsburg Community Middle School, and make all other necessary improvements at an estimated cost of $16,500,000 with NO MILL INCREASE.

The renovation will include all 4 floors of the 1921 section of the building.  It will include remodeling existing classrooms to accommodate student growth and expansion of pathway courses by creating 21st century learning spaces, adding a modern science laboratory, adding an elevator for ADA compliance, and renovating the auditorium for school and community use.

The only physical building that will see improvements is the middle school but the entire district will see an impact. The improvements made to PCMS will allow elementary curriculums to increase early introduction of STEM with students. Earlier introduction of STEM allows for students entering the high school to have already completed introductory-level courses, allowing students to work on more advanced skills and potentially receive certifications within their four years of high school.
